TIME SENSITIVE--"You're the One"
©1999 Mark Baranowski/Nickel City Records
~out of print~
Track list:
1. You're the One (original mix) (4:41)
2. You're the One (instrumental) (4:41)
3. Understand the World (instrumental) (4:10)
Yes, Mark sings, too! Most heavily influenced by Depeche Mode,
he created this 3-song single during his "evolution" from rapper
(The Marksman) to instrumentalist (MARQUIS).
You're the One reviews:
Something of a personal track from the guy also known as The Marksman. He's trying to do something of a kicky urban ballad (you know, a bit uptempo).
Now, I'm not real big on gooey love songs, and Mark Baranowski doesn't have the world's greatest singing voice. It's kind of ordinary, and that's the one
thing I like about this. He's not trying to bowl people over with excessive production or shrill howls. He's just kinda singing. That's cool. What he does
best is kick out the backing instrumental tracks. Those sound real good. Very much rooted in classic hip-hop. Quite nice...
